2016 Courtcare Open 10k

Commencing Tuesday 9th August with 8 qualifying matches the Courtcare Open reaches a conclusion on Sunday 14th when the last 2 standing will battle it out for the title.

With Pontefract players Taminder Gata Aura and Lewis Doughty awarded places in the qualifiers for reaching the clubs Championships final and Matt Sidaway getting the final place on merit there is plenty of local interest in the early stages. Patrick Rooney has been awarded the wild card place and will therefore take his place in the main draw. Players ranked between 50 and 100 in the world make up the majority of the remaining main draw places so it goes without saying that this tournament will produce very competitive and top quality squash.

The final on Sunday will be preceeded by an exhibition match between Laura Massaro and Fiona Moverley and  a one day junior tournament will fill the courts throughout the day so there's plenty of squash on view and best of all its absolutely FREE to all to watch

The tournament is sponsored by the leading squash court care specialist in the country and supported by several other businesses with a love of or connection to squash. Pontefract Squash & Leisure Club is proud to be hosting this prestigious tournament and grateful to all who have made it happen.
